Following the renewed violence recorded in the
state in the last few days, the Oyo State Government on Monday banned
the activities of the state council of the National Union of Road
Transport Workers across all the motor parks in the state.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the State Security Council presided over by the state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
The governor read the communiqué released at the end of the meeting which was attended by heads of the various security agencies in the state, including the Police, Army, State Security Service, Immigration, Prisons and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
