Armed men in the early hours of Wednesday stormed the residence of a member of the Oyo State House Assembly, Mr. Kehinde Subir.
Subir is representing Ibadan South West I State Constituency in the assembly which was recently inaugurated.
Eyewitnesses told our correspondent that the armed men arrived the lawmaker’s Surulere residence, off Olomi Olunde Road, Ibadan, the state capital, at about 6am.
The men were said to have made away with about N263,000 cash, three mobile telephone handsets and a wristwatch.
One of the armed men was said to have been arrested while others escaped.
The suspect is said to be in the custody of Sanyo Police Station.
The Deputy Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, Mr. Femi Okanlawon, confirmed the incident.
Okanlawon, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said that a locally-made gun was recovered from the suspect.
