‘Our appointments not for personal enrichment’

The Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has disclosed that appointments in his administration will be a call to serve the state and not for personal enrichment.
He said his administration was not only poised to reduce governmental waste, but would also not be one that flagrantly tampers with public patrimony.
Ajimobi made the submission on Monday while inaugurating the secretary to the state government and his chief of staff.
He said, “Overtime, it has been discovered that undue pressure mounted on political office holders from family members, friends and associates have contributed in no small measure to their being railroaded while in office.
“Family members and friends of our appointees should know that this administration is not only poised to reduce governmental waste, ours will not be one that flagrantly tampers with public patrimony.
“Appointments in our administration will be call to serve our state and not to enrich appointees unduly.
Ajimobi also assured those who worked assiduously for the Action Congress of Nigeria and his candidacy in the last elections that their sweats will not be in vain, saying that subsequent appointments will take cognisance of their contributions.
