The controversy generated by the non appointment
of commissioners by Osun State Governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, has
continued unabated with the Peoples Democratic Party decrying the
development.
A statement by the acting Chairman, Osun PDP, Chief Sunday Ojo-Williams, on Sunday, said the ruling party would enter the Guinness Book of Records for not appointing commissioners after seven months in office.
But the Director, Osun State Bureau of Research and Strategy, Mr Semiu Okanlawon, described the contention of the PDP as warped and misleading.
Okanlawaon, in a statement issued on Sunday, said the contention of the Osun PDP reflected the ignorance and idleness of the leaders of the party.
Quoting Section 192 of the Nigerian Constitution, Ojo-Williams said it was mandatory of the governor to appoint commissioners.
