Bode George laments inability to vote

Former National Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olabode George, has lamented his inability to vote in the ongoing general elections. George, who spoke to our correspondents in his family house on Evans Street, Lagos Island on Saturday, said that he would have loved to vote but he did not have the opportunity to register during the exercise. He said, “You know, I just came out of prison; I did not register. At that time, we were not allowed to register. If you did not register, you can’t vote. You know, Bola Tinubu and his cohorts made sure that we were locked away during the registration period.” The PDP chieftain expressed the hope that PDP would do well in the election, describing as non-issue the wrangling in the party following the emergence of Dr. Ade Dosunmu as the governorship candidate of the party in Lagos State. He denied the claim that he was the one who imposed Dosunmu on the party, saying that the process that produced him was transparent. “I was not there; you all know I was in prison then, so how could I have imposed a candidate on the party? “Again, among all the candidates for the governorship position, he was the most qualified academically and professionally.” He described the allegations made by the likes of Wahab Dosunmu and Adeseye Ogunlewe that he controls the party as baseless.
