In a chat with journalist in Abuja, Senator David Mark said the elections so far is "the is the fairest, freest and certainly a very credible one",� which unfortunately some Nigerians have failed to see and accept defeat like good sportsmen.
He called on the aggrieved persons and their supporters to be calm and seek redress at the appropriate quarters.
Senator Mark also called on all elected officials to hit the ground and start working to ensure that Nigerians reap the rewards of the overwhelming support they showed politicians at the polls.
He added that though there were some hiccups, the electoral body should be commended for a job well done so far.
In a related development, the Niger State ANPP governorship candidate, Barrister David Umur has appealed to the protesters in the north to stop the violence that is presently ravaging the north and embrace peace for the benefit of the country.
He admonished the youth to bury the hatchet and accept the result of the just concluded presidential election as an act of God and the wish of the majority of Nigerians, and they should endeavour to continue to uphold the unity of the country.
The two time governorship candidate also praised the Professor Jega led Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] for what he described as an �improvement� on the last general election conducted in the country.
He however noted that there is still room for improvement by INEC as it prepares for the governorship election slated for next week Tuesday.
The ANPP governorship candidate who berated the PDP led state government in the state, explains that if elected he will provide quality leadership and improve the living standard of the people in the state.
