Controversy still surrounds an allegation of the printing of voter cards in Ede-South Local Government Council of Osun State.
Three members of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ede were reportedly quizzed by the police over the allegation at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Osogbo, on Thursday.
A version of the controversy alleged that the PDP members engaged in the act in order to rig the state parliamentary election coming up on Tuesday.
The incident, which purportedly occurred at a business centre on Federal Polytechnic Road, Ede, at 9.45 pm, caused a stir in the town.
The suspects were rounded up by detectives, who brought them to the SCIB, Osogbo, for questioning.
They were alleged to have printed several voter cards before the police got a tip-off that led to their arrest.
A councillorship candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria for Ward II, Ede-North Local Government Council, Mr. Gbadebo Sodiq, who visited the business centre to make a phone call, allegedly got wind of the act and gave the police a tip-off.
Police Public Relations Officer, Osun State Command, Mr. Oluwagbemileke Taiwo, who confirmed that the suspects were making photocopies of voter cards, added that the case was being investigated.
