The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate for Lagos State, Dr. Ade Dosunmu, on Sunday urged the electorate in the country to remain calm and wait for a new date to express their civic rights.
Dosunmu who expressed surprise over the cancellation of the election urged prospective voters not to be deterred by it.
According to him, “When you look at the cost of conducting this election; the action of the Independent National Electoral Commission is a huge loss to this nation. I am still waiting to get the full details of the cause, but it is very unfortunate. The implication of today’s action by INEC is that it is going to begin to create problem of confidence on INEC by international community and even the electorate. We need to look critically into the cause of this and ensure that it does not repeat itself.
“My advice to the Nigerian electorate is to remain calm and wait until announcement of a new date is made for them to come out and exercise their civic right.”
