Fashola urges Lagosians to ignore negative text messages

Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN) on Tuesday urged Lagosians to ignore the negative text messages being sent around about an alleged rift in the Action Congress of Nigeria. A statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Mr. Hakeem Bello, quoted Fashola as saying this at the lobby of the Mainland Hotel, Oyingbo, Lagos, after attending a meeting of the ACN in the Lagos Central Senatorial District. The governor also urged all the stakeholders to remain vigilant. The governor said, “This is the destabilisation, the deceit, the corruption that is the trait and character of the Peoples Democratic Party posing as Labour Party; posing as all sorts of things trying to destabilise all other parties. You just saw our meeting; there is no rift in our party.” He said the PDP had not told Nigerians what it would do about security, roads and housing. He added that there was a need for all Nigerians to be vigilant, wake up and listen to what the ACN was saying based on the track record of its performances in states where it is in control.
