The people of Ode-Omi in Ogun Water-Side Local
Government Area have cried to the state government to save them from the
illegal activities of some people claiming to be agents of the Lagos
State (Lands Department) and making surreptitious moves to annex their
community and territory.
A delegation from Ode-Omi, led by the chairman of Ogun Water-Side Local Government Transition Committee, Toyin Aiyebusiwa, made the appeal in Abeokuta during a meeting with the state’s top government functionaries led by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Muyiwa Oladipo.
The delegation lamented the activities of the so-called officials of the Lagos State Government, citing as an example, a clandestine meeting of some individuals “with someone claiming to be a member of the executive council of the Lagos State government,” who promised to create an Ode-Omi Local Government Council with a native of the community as chairman.
