A group, the Nigerian Peoples Centre for
Legislative Advocacy, on Monday said Mr. Saubana Ajibola was best suited
to be the next Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The Chairman and Secretary of the group, Mr. Hyacinth Chinweuba, and Mrs. Sade Ajetumobi, respectively, stated this in an address on the next leadership of the National Assembly.
They said, “We support Ajibola for his outstanding performance during the power probe when he submitted a people-driven minority support.”
The group, which also predicated Ajibola’s suitability for the position on his origin, said, “The position of the Speaker of the House of Representative should be retained in the South-West of Nigeria.”
The group said Ajibola had met both local and international standards expected of the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
