Senator Abiola Ajimobi |
The group said that as a man of honour, Ajimobi was capable of governing the state without being dictated to from any quarters.
The group made the clarification in a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Chief Silas Lasunnsi; Secretary, Chief Ayo Eniade, and three other members, a copy of which was made available to our correspondent in Ibadan, the state capital on Monday.
The group congratulated Ajimobi on his victory, and paid tributes to national and state leaders of the Action Congress of Nigeria for all their efforts that culminated in the victory.
Meanwhile, the Ladoja Campaign Organisation has formally announced the acceptance of the election of Ajimobi as the genuine wish of the people of the state.
Ladoja had immediately after the result was released, congratulated Ajimobi, but the organisation had remained silent.
But in a statement by its Director-General, Mr. Adeolu Adeleke, made available to our correspondent in Ibadan, the state capital on Monday, the organisation accepted the result and congratulated Ajimobi on his victory at the poll.
Adeleke however said that the acceptance of the outcome of the election did not mean that the election was perfect or devoid of electoral malpractices.
