‘Lawmaking, a call to service’

Rt. Hon. Ikuforiji The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, has said lawmaking is a call to service and should be done with the interest of the people in mind. Ikuforiji also said among all the options available to Lagosians, the Action Congress of Nigeria is still the best. The Speaker said this at the inauguration of his re-election campaign in Lagos. Ikuforiji, who is contesting the Ikeja Constituency 1 seat in the Assembly, said this shortly after receiving the flag of the ACN from the party Chairman, Mr. Dele Ajomale. He told the crowd that a good foundation has been laid for the state government to improve upon while the state had witnessed development under the government of Governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN). He appealed to the gathering and Lagosians not to vote for any party other than ACN, saying the party was their best option and would bring in progress to the state. The former governor of the state and party leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, warned members of the party not to be deceived by the Labour Party, adding that ACN members who defected to the party are saboteurs. He also admonished the party leaders in Ikeja to remain united in order to achieve victory at the poll. By Abimbola Adelakun
