Fire guts popular events centre in Lagos
A popular events centre in Lagos, The Balmoral, was on Sunday afternoon gutted by fire.
THE PUNCH learnt that the fire, which broke out during the 2011 edition of the annual
City People Awards, brought the ceremony to an abrupt end. Guests had to flee the venue
to safety.
The hall was said to have been totally destroyed before fire fighters arrived.
