ACN rules out alliance with CPC
Former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Sunday ruled out the possibility of an alliance between the Action Congress of Nigeria and the Congress for Progressive Change.
Tinubu, who spoke at the party’s presidential rally in Kano, said ACN did not need ‘expired leadership.’
Tinubu said, “What Nigeria needs now is a transformation in leadership as obtained in advanced economies.
“Therefore, the leadership of the ACN is offering Nigeria the brilliance of Nuhu Ribadu who is in the class of Nicolas Sarkozy of France, David Cameron of Britain, Medvedev of Russia and Barack Obama of the United States of America.
“What has CPC got to offer? We certainly don’t need expired leadership as we are offering the best in terms of brilliance, courage and patriotism.”
The ACN chieftain further decried the current practice where 75 per cent of the national budget is committed to recurrent expenditure, explaining that the PDP has underdeveloped the country of over 150 million people in its 12 years of leadership.
Tinubu challenged Nigerians to protect their votes during month’s polls.
On his party, Ribadu attributed his ticket to divine intervention as he pointed out that it was ‘ordained by God.”
The ACN presidential flagbearer pledged to fix the problem of infrastructure in the country, adding that he would embark on other human oriented programme if elected president.
“A vote for me is a vote for national development”, he assured Nigerians, whom he urged to pray hard for hitch-free elections.
