The Federal Government is currently planning to include entrepreneurial study in school curricular across the country.
By the time the plan materialises, the study would be included in school curricular starting from the secondary school level.
Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu Rufa’i, said this on Monday while receiving a delegation of the Council of Nigerian Women in the Diaspora in Abuja.
Apart from the entrepreneur study, Rufa’i added that additional skills acquisition centres would be created across the country.
The aim according to her, is for the nation not to produce graduates that will be burden on the society.
She said the desire of the Federal Government graduates to be on their own upon graduation.
While commending the visiting women for their decision to return home and contribute to the nation’s development, the minister urged other Nigerians, who were resident abroad, to borrow a leaf from them.
She said, “We are happy that you have decided to come back home and make impacts. It is important that Nigerians in the Diaspora return home and join hands with the government of President Goodluck Jonathan to transform in the country in line with his transformation agenda.”
Earlier, the group’s chairman, Mrs. Ngozi Nwankwo, said their decision to return home and contribute their quota to national development stemmed from the charge given to them by President Goodluck Jonathan during a recent Diaspora conference.
Nwankwo observed that for the government to succeed in its quest to bring Nigerians abroad back home, some things must be improved upon to attract them.
She expressed the willingness of her group to collaborate with the government to realise the dream.
