CJN Swears-In Election Tribunal Judges
Judicial officers who are to serve as members of the various election tribunals have been advised not to succumb to attempts by unscrupulous persons to influence them into taking wrong decisions.
The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Aloysius Katsina-Alu gave this advice in Abuja while swearing in one hundred and ten out of the two hundred and ten judicial officers who are to serve as chairmen and members of election tribunals.
He advised members of the tribunals to act in accordance with the dictates of their oath of office as well as their conscience.
The election tribunals are to cover the thirty-six states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory with each state having two tribunals for National and State Houses of Assembly and the governorship election tribunal to handle petitions arising from the April elections.
